On a snowy late January morning in 2004, the nine members of the Metuchen Diocese's global solidarity partnership delegation set out from Newark Liberty Airport to an unknown future in every way in Guatemala.
Five years later, as groups from Metuchen increasingly make the exchange from wintry New Jersey for tropical Guatemala, a few things are known:
1) The partners on both sides are committed, enthused and transformed by the process.
2) Catholic Relief Services Guatemala continues to be an invaluable guide and resource
3) water (and hopes) are flowing in Las Flores and San Antonito
4) momentum is building among Metuchen parishes, groups and individuals to get more deeply involved in the process.
